Getting Started

Welcome to ChorifIQ — the smart family chore manager that schedules automatically, tracks progress, and keeps everyone accountable.

This section walks you through everything you need to get up and running.

ChorifIQ has two core chore concepts: definitions and assignments. A definition is the chore template — its name, schedule, effort points, and rules. The scheduler reads your definitions and automatically generates assignments for each family member, balancing their goals, eligible chores, vacation days, and rotation order.

Members see their assignments on a daily dashboard, complete them with a tap, and earn points to climb the leaderboard. On-time completions build streaks; points feed the leaderboard. The manager oversees everything from a central dashboard and can adjust assignments, excuse chores, or quick-assign new ones as the day unfolds.

All of these features interact — a member’s per-day goal shapes what the scheduler assigns, vacation days pause the rotation without breaking streaks, and strict rotation defers chores rather than assigning them unfairly. To see how a typical week plays out, read A Week with ChorifIQ after you finish setting up.

Follow these steps in order:

  1. Download the app — Install ChorifIQ on your iOS or Android device.
  2. Create an account — Sign up with email, Apple, or Google.
  3. Set up your family:
  4. Add family members — Invite adults and children to join.
  5. Assign your first chore — Create a chore and let ChorifIQ handle the scheduling.
RoleWhat they do
ManagerCreates and manages chores, sets goals, approves new members, configures family settings, views everyone’s progress. The person who creates the family is automatically the manager.
MemberViews assigned chores, marks them complete, self-assigns available chores, tracks personal goals and streaks, competes on the leaderboard.

Every family has at least one manager. Paid plans support multiple managers (up to 2 on Pro, 4 on Max). For a full breakdown of what each role can do, see the Manager Guide and Member Guide.
