FAQ
Getting Started
Section titled “Getting Started”Do I need an account for every family member?
Section titled “Do I need an account for every family member?”Yes. Each family member needs their own ChorifIQ account. Children under 18 need a parent to create their account via a minor invite — they can’t sign up themselves.
Can I use ChorifIQ without a paid subscription?
Section titled “Can I use ChorifIQ without a paid subscription?”Yes. The Free plan includes up to 40 chore definitions, a family of up to 1 manager and 3 members, push notifications, and basic bulk import (up to 20 chores). Pro and Max raise those limits and add email digests, SMS reminders, vacation dates, per-day goals, and more. See Billing for a full comparison.
What’s the difference between a manager and a member?
Section titled “What’s the difference between a manager and a member?”Managers create and manage chores, approve new members, and control family settings. Members view and complete their assigned chores. Every family needs at least one manager. See the Manager Guide and Member Guide.
Chores
Section titled “Chores”Why isn’t a chore showing up on a member’s dashboard?
Section titled “Why isn’t a chore showing up on a member’s dashboard?”A few common reasons:
- The chore’s eligible members list doesn’t include that member.
- The member has scheduling paused.
- Today is a vacation day for the member or family.
- The member has reached their goal limit for the day.
Check the member’s settings under Manage → People.
Can members assign chores to themselves?
Section titled “Can members assign chores to themselves?”Yes, if the manager has enabled Allow Self-Assign on the chore definition. Members tap the + button on their dashboard to see self-assignable chores. See Self-Assigning Chores.
What’s the difference between a chore Definition and an Assignment?
Section titled “What’s the difference between a chore Definition and an Assignment?”A Definition is the template — the chore name, schedule, and rules. An Assignment is a specific chore assigned to a member, generated from that definition (e.g., “Take out trash — due Monday”). Definitions generate assignments automatically on schedule.
Can I import chores from a spreadsheet?
Section titled “Can I import chores from a spreadsheet?”Yes. All plans support bulk import — Free allows up to 20 chores, Pro up to 100, and Max up to 999. Use Bulk Import to upload an Excel or CSV file. You can also download the template from within the app.
How do I add many chores quickly without importing?
Section titled “How do I add many chores quickly without importing?”Use the Chore Library — a collection of pre-built household chore templates you can add with a few taps.
Members & Families
Section titled “Members & Families”How do I invite someone to join my family?
Section titled “How do I invite someone to join my family?”Go to Manage → Invite (the invite icon). Share your invite code or QR code. For children under 18, use the Invite Minor tab — enter the minor’s email, select their age group (Teen or Child), and complete the parental consent flow. See Adding Members.
A new member is stuck on “Pending Approval” — what do I do?
Section titled “A new member is stuck on “Pending Approval” — what do I do?”Open Manage → People and look for the member under Pending. Tap Approve to grant them access. See Approvals.
Can I have more than one manager?
Section titled “Can I have more than one manager?”Yes. The number of managers depends on your subscription tier: Free allows 1, Pro allows 2, and Max allows up to 4. See Promoting a Member to Manager.
How do I remove a family member?
Section titled “How do I remove a family member?”For adult members, go to Manage → People, expand their row, and tap Remove from Family. This removes them from your family but does not delete their account. For minor accounts (teens and children), the button reads Delete Minor Account — removing a minor permanently deletes their account since minor accounts are tied to their invited family. See Managing Members.

Section titled “Notifications”I’m not getting push notifications. What do I check?
Section titled “I’m not getting push notifications. What do I check?”- Make sure Notifications is toggled on in your Settings.

- Make sure the specific notification type you want is enabled (e.g., Daily Reminder, Chore Assigned).

Section titled “How do I stop getting SMS messages?”Reply STOP to any ChorifIQ text message to immediately unsubscribe. Your SMS settings will be automatically disabled in the app.
Can I set different notification times for different days?
Section titled “Can I set different notification times for different days?”No — there is one notification time for all morning reminders and one for all evening reminders. You can change each time in your Settings screen, but the same time applies every day.

Notification channels for children are controlled entirely by parents; teens manage their own push notifications but parents control email. SMS is not available for minors. We don’t run ads and collect only the minimum data needed for functionality. See COPPA & Children’s Privacy.
